For the first time in two months, the biggest thing in our day wasn't our son. Yes, he gained another ounce and a half, up to 5 lbs 1.8 ounces. But the big news was the 9 alarm fire a few blocks from here. Turns out a bunch of abandon warehouses were up for landmark status. Someone wanted to make sure the 40 story highrises could get underway before the landmark process saved the 115 year old buildings. Its still burning tonight. Gotta love that smoke.
So yes, the tragic fire managed to eclipse our tragic lives for a day. Not to diminish the events, but it was nice to think about something else for a while.
