Kenzie spent more than 7 hours today without his cannula. We had a meeting with the head of pediatrics to discuss his case. He told us he is doing great, "if he wants, he can play football some day." This was a huge relief to us, we were dreading hearing more bad news. He gave us more info on the breathing: It's not that his lungs are underdeveloped or not working. It's that the teamwork between his brain and lungs is not developed yet. That normally doesn't happen till 36 weeks (tomorrow). It's as if you said a 10 year old cant do calculus. It doesn't mean they are stupid or have brain issues, it just means they haven't developed that skill yet. So we are a bit more relaxed, this will all resolve itself soon, and he'll be home in a matter of a week or so.
He's up to 5 lbs 10.4 ounces.

I'm 27 and I still can't do calculus, don't worry. He's looking pretty good. How about a picture of all 3 of you together? - Uncle Daniel
